Freshman Legacy Project (FLP)

Overview

Each year, APSU freshmen are required to write a series of essays as part of the course curriculum in APSU1000.  The FLP collects the best of these essays and showcases them in a published book which will serve as a repository of freshman experiences that can be shared in future APSU1000 classes.  The aspiration of the FLP to instill a sense of historical consciousness in freshman which will eventual transcend all their years at APSU and be shared by the newest members of the APSU family, the freshmen of the years yet to come.

How will this work?

APSU1000 instructors will select their best student essays for submission and encourage them to submit via email to FLP@APSU.EDU Recognize that FLP submissions are NOT above the already required essays for APSU1000. Collectively, the APSU1000 classes should generate a complete product each year and the FLP textbook would get “better”.

Here is the required list of APSU1000 essays and how FLP can be incorporated into them.  Remember that the instructor can do whatever they want!  We just ask that you simply submit the really good essays to us!
