Mission Statement |
The College of Arts and Letters
includes the departments of Art,
Communications and Theatre, History
and Philosophy, Languages and
Literature, and Music. The Special
Programs in the college are African
American Studies, Honors,
International Studies, and Women's
Studies. The academic
departments in the college are central
to the liberal arts mission of the
university. We strive to promote
critical thinking, creativity,
communication skills, scholarships,
and lifelong learning as well as other
educational goals. The college seeks
to provide a broad multi cultural
foundation for diverse educational
experiences.
The
Center for the Creative Arts as
well as the Acuff Chair of excellence
serve the college. This is a new
college that is beginning it's first
year of service in the university. In
the near future we will provide
additional information concerning the
mission and opportunities in the
college.
