Admission for International Students
This information is for you if you are an international student who intends
to complete undergraduate studies at APSU. If you are interested in graduate

Applying for Undergraduate Admission
- Submit an
application for admission online or print and submit the paper
application.
- Pay the nonrefundable $15 application fee.
- Submit certified copies of your academic transcripts,
certificates, diplomas and degrees well in advance of the date you
intend to enroll.
When necessary, documents must be translated to English. If the transcript is
not in English, a translation must accompany the documents. Hand-delivered
transcripts are not acceptable. Click here to print a Transcript Request Form

- Submit proof of proficiency in English.
- Original results of the Test of English
as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) must be sent directly from the testing
agency to Austin Peay. List institutional code 1028 on the test to have
scores sent to APSU. If you are from Canada, United Kingdom, Australia,
West Indies or New Zealand, you are not required to take the TOEFL. To
obtain TOEFL information, write to:

- If you have a J or F visa, you must submit a medical
certificate from a licensed physician or other medical
authority verifying you do not have tuberculosis. APSU must receive this
certificate at least 30 days before the first day of classes.
- If you have a J or F visa, you must provide documents proving
you have medical and hospitalization insurance.
If you do not provide evidence of adequate insurance before class
registration begins, you will be automatically enrolled in the
Student/Scholar Health and Accident Insurance Plan and the cost will be
added to your student fees. When you arrive at Austin Peay, please go to
Ellington Building, Room 104, to present a copy of your health insurance
policy including term of enrollment, in English, and verification of payment
for the semester(s) that you will be attending.
Submit an
Affidavit of Support and Financial Statement. This form
evidences your ability to pay all required educational and living costs.
This form must be on file before an I-20 or DS-2019 can be issued.
An international applicant is required to certify that he/she will have
available U.S. $28,166 - $30,576 (depending on residence hall selected) for
nine months or U.S. $40,409 - $44,024 (depending on residence hall selected)
for 12 months at Austin Peay State University, exclusive of travel expenses.
All fees are subject to change without notice. These fees are based on
on-campus living; off campus accommodations may be more expensive.
For dependents to be included on the I-20AB, add $3,500 per academic year
for your spouse and $2,000 per academic year for each child. Spouses of F-1
visa holders are not permitted to work under any circumstances. Spouses of
J-1 visa holders may obtain permission to work only for his or her and the
children’s support.

SEVIS Fee
All non-immigrants who are initially issued a Form I-20 or Form DS-2019
are required to pay the SEVIS Fee. Please visit the following Web site,
http://www.ice.gov/sevis/i901, for information on the fee payment.
Transferring to APSU from another institution in the United States
All records must be in English. Since certificates and records filed are
not returned, you should send certified copies if the documents in question
cannot be easily replaced.
The institution you have been attending must submit photocopies of the
following documents to the APSU Office of Admissions:
- Form I-20 or DS-2019
- Form I-94
- U.S. visa page
- Passport Information pages
- Transfer Verification Form
Your secondary school(s) and other college(s) must send official or
certified copies of your transcripts, certificates and diplomas directly to
the Office of Admissions. If the transcript is not in English, a translation
must accompany the documents. Hand-delivered transcripts are not acceptable.

If you wish to receive college credit for classes taken at foreign
institutions, you must also provide a course-by-course evaluation of all
post-secondary transcripts. This evaluation may be completed by
Global Education Group or World Education
Services.
If you are an F-1 student at another university and are authorized to work
off-campus due to economic hardship, you will be required to re-apply for
off-campus work authorization at APSU once your SEVIS record is transferred.
