     The Department of Health and Human Performance promotes learning and personal growth within an educational environment that is characterized by small classes, professional mentoring interactions between students and faculty, broad-based course offerings and instructional activities that are theoretically based and include experiential opportunities. The recognition and appreciation of diversity is an integral component of the department and its various disciplines.
     Graduate offerings in the Department of Health and Human Performance are designed to prepare leaders to meet challenges in ever-changing community, educational, and health care environments. The goal of the Department of Health and Human Performance is to advance the understanding of the concepts, issues and practices of the discipline; promote independent thought and the ability to generate new knowledge; and enhance the ability to contribute significantly to the academic community, professions, and society. The Department of Health and Human Performance offers a concentration in Public and Community Health,
as well as Sport and Wellness Leadership and Health Services Administration specializations. 
Admission

Master of Science

  The Sport and Wellness Leadership Specialization provides opportunity for students to prepare for positions in rehabilitation centers within hospitals and clinics, wellness centers in hospitals, businesses, industries, and fitness centers in both the public and private sectors.  Also provides opportunity for students to prepare for positions in colleges and university athletic departments, professional sports, and sport agencies.  The Health Services Administration Specialization provides opportunity for students to prepare for positions in hospitals, clinics, community agencies, managed care organizations, and government agencies. The Public and Community Health Concentration provides opportunity for students to prepare for positions in state and local health departments, community agencies, and state agencies.
