“I was employed by Austin Peay for 30 years, so I feel a
strong attachment to the University, not only as a former
employee, but as a citizen of Clarksville and Montgomery
County. My son-in-law, Charles Hinson, and I made donations to
the University to establish two scholarships in memory of my
daughter, Evelyn Ross Hinson. A lecture room and laboratory
are dedicated to her in the Sundquist Science Complex. We plan
to make additional gifts for scholarships in remembrance of
her. In 1998, a scholarship in memory of my husband, Neil
Ross, was established in the mathematics department. We also
plan to make additional gifts to this scholarship. As an
employee, I saw firsthand how scholarships change the lives of
students and enable them to become what they want to be. I
want to make that happen.”
