Have a free meal on us!

Austin Peay State University is excited to offer you a free meal in the APSU cafeteria in honor of your birthday! It’s simply a small recognition for all your hard work and dedication to APSU.

All full- and part-time permanent employees receiving benefits are eligible for this new program. On your birthday, you will receive an e-mail “Happy Birthday!” greeting, and a free meal will be added to your Govs I.D. card.

You may redeem this meal anytime in the APSU cafeteria within one year of your birthday month. That means if your birthday occurs during a break, you will still be able to claim your meal.

When you go to the cafeteria to redeem your meal, tell the cashier you are there for your birthday meal and hand him/her your I.D. card. The cashier will swipe your card for your meal.

Questions

Do I have to have an Govs I.D. card? Yes. Your Govs I.D. card is the only way you can claim your free birthday meal.

I have a birthday during the year-end holiday break. Will I still be able to use my birthday meal? Absolutely. This is also true for those whose birthdays occur during the summer or on weekends and holidays.

How long is the birthday meal valid? On your next birthday month, a new credit will be added to the card. The credits do not accumulate from year to year, and once you use the credit, it is gone until your next birthday month. 

What if the cafeteria is not open? There are times when the cafeteria might not be open due to breaks, holidays, etc. No problem! Simply use the credit the next time the cafeteria is open, whether it’s during the summer or academic year.

Birthday meals expire on the last day of the month before your birthday month or upon termination of employment at APSU, whichever occurs first. Birthday meals are only valid in the Morgan University Center cafeteria. You must have your APSU I.D. to redeem your birthday meal. Birthday meals carry no dollar or exchange value. Please contact Human Resources with any questions regarding your eligibility for the birthday meal.
