CPT and OPT Workshops

Workshops for international students as well as any interested staff and faculty to get more information on Curricular Practical Training (CPT), Optional Practical Training (OPT) as well as OPT STEM Extension opportunities. 

  • CPT workshops are designed for students who are required to have an internship, practicum or other work experience off-campus as part of a course or degree requirement.
  • OPT workshops are designed for students who will soon be graduating and interesting in applying for authorization to work for up to 12 months after graduation in the U.S.A. OPT workshops will also discuss option for a 24 month extension for students in a STEM degree program.

Topics will include:

  • definition of CPT or OPT
  • regulations and policies for eligibility and maintaining status
  • process for applying
  • tips and help
