Scholarship Opportunities 

There are countless scholarship opportunities. The first and best place to go for scholarship opportunities at Austin Peay is the university's Office of Financial Aid. Below are scholarship links students at APSU students have found helpful: 

APSU Nontraditional Student Scholarships
Austin Peay has several scholarships specifically for students who are Nontraditional. See here to review those scholarships. Contact the Office of Financial Aid for any questions about university scholarships or financial aid opportunities. 

 

Tennessee Hope Scholarship for Nontraditional Students
For students 25 or older who have not been enrolled for at least two (2) years after last attending any postsecondary institution and is now enrolled. For more eligibility requirements head here

 

The Association for Non-Traditional Students in Higher Education 
ANTSHE seeks to promote involvement and opportunity for students who are nontraditional. Click this link and find scholarship opportunities on the left hand side. 

 

American Legion Auxiliary Nontraditional Scholarship
Any student who is part of the Legion Family is eligible for this scholarship. Head here to see deadlines and amounts.

 

Betty Barrick Non-Traditional Scholarship (Agriculture/Natural Resources)
The Betty Barrick Non-Traditional Scholarship is for college students who are at least 25 years old. Those applying for the scholarship will need to be qualified young men and women that are interested in agriculture and natural resources fields. Head here for more information. 

 

Emerge Scholarships, Inc.
Emerge mission is to support women whose education has been interrupted. Emerge Scholarships, Inc. has 70 different scholarships that make annual awards of $2,000 to $5,000. Apply on the Emerge Scholarships, Inc. website

 

Jeannette Rankin Women’s Scholarship Fund 
The Jeannette Rankin Women's Scholarship is for low-income women over the age of 35. Check eligibility and apply here

 

Walmart Associate Scholarship
These scholarships are for Walmart associates and their Dependents. The Walmart Foundation offers scholarship programs that benefit qualified Walmart associates and their high school senior dependents. Apply at this link. 

Did you know nontraditional includes students who are Veterans? The Military and Veterans Affairs Division has an ongoing list of helpful scholarships for those who are military or have military affiliation. Click this link to see these opportunities.

Tau Sigma Scholarship
Each year Tau Sigma awards $100,000 of scholarships to members. You must be a current member to apply to this scholarship. 

 

The National Society for Accountants                                                                                         Applicants must be a United States or Canadian citizen. Permanent residents are NOT eligible to apply with the exception of applicants from Arizona. Legal residents from Arizona may apply. Applicants must be majoring in accounting, having maintained a 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher (on a 4.0 scale) and must be an undergraduate enrolled part- or full-time at an accredited (2) two-year or (4) four-year college or university in the United States. Horatio Alger Scholarship Program                                                                                             Applicants must be transferring to a four-year university from a community college. The scholarship awards students who have overcome adversity. Students must have a minimum 2.0 GPA and show financial need (adjusted gross family income of $55,000 or less). Teachers of Accounting at Two Year Colleges                                                                               Applicants must be graduating from two-year colleges and transfering to APSU. They must pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting at a four-year college during the upcoming academic year and must have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Apply at this link.

 

META Gold Scholarship                                                                                                                             Applicants must be applying, accepted or enrolled at an accredited institution of higher education as a full-time undergraduate student pursuing an academic discipline and must have a 3.00 GPA and be in good academic standing. Also, aspplicants must be a U.S. Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident of Hispanic origin and must be graduating (or have graduated) from a high school in Southern California. Apply at this link.

 

Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship
This scholarship is current students at an accredited U.S. community college or two-year institution with sophomore status by January 1, 2021, and have a cumulative undergraduate grade point average of 3.50 or better on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent). Apply here.

 

Pearson Scholarship for Higher Education                                                                             Applicants must be a Phi Theta Kappa Member in good standing and must be enrolled full- or part-time in a community college at the time of applicatio with a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA on all college-level coursework. Also, applicants must have completed 12–36 semester hours (12–54 quarter hours) of college-level coursework before applying.

 

Hispanic Scholarship Fund
This scholarship is open to those who are hispanic who have minimum of 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) for college and graduate students. Applicans must also be U.S Citizens, permanant legal resident, or DACA. Apply at this link.
