Registration/Audition Process:  Tuesday, September 26th - Tuesday, October 10th   

This program is offered as an opportunity for APSU students to showcase their diverse talents! Audition to demonstrate your unique abilities, such as singing, dancing, skits, comedy, spoken-word, performing magic, playing an instrument, or anything that you can do to impress a crowd of 1,000+ students, staff, faculty, & guest!

You must turn in song lyrics and a music file or CD (if applicable) along with the audition video.

Application deadline is Tuesday, October 10 at 11:59pm.

From the audition pool, the Govs Programming Council (GPC) will vote on the top 15 acts based on overall performance, originality, appearance, and personality.

Decisions and notifications about performing at the Homecoming AP Apollo Talent Show will be made by Friday, October 13, 2017 via e-mail.

A wait-list will be created for those who didn’t get selected. Wait-list participants can be notified as late as the day of the event if they would like to perform, so be ready with your materials.

You must monitor your APSU e-mail throughout the application process in case we have any questions or need you to resubmit materials.


Day of Event: Thursday, October 19, 2017

All performers are required to attend sound rehearsal from 4:00-6:00pm

You will be assigned a time based on your availability

Waitlist performers may attend the sound rehearsal in case performers do not show up to claim their spot in order of audition results.

Performers are free to go after sound rehearsal but must be back for the event by 6:45pm and stay for the duration of the talent show.

Performers will have a waiting lounge backstage


The judges will narrow down the 15 acts to the top three (3) based on:

Overall performance

Audience Reaction

Stage Appearance



The final three (3) performers will be decided by the audience through an instant online text messaging system, Baseline-CampusLabs.

The top three places will receive a monetary prize

1st place: $500

2nd place: $200

3rd place: $50



Performers must abide by the following guidelines. Failure to do so will result in immediate disqualification.

  1. Performers may not use vulgar or inappropriate language or gestures.
  2. Performers must be at the Foy Center for their assigned sound rehearsal time and for the duration of the AP Apollo show.
  3. Performances have a max length of 5 minutes. Judges will reduce performance scores for those longer than 5 minutes.
  4. If selected, performers must provide a music file or CD as soon as possible (if not already submitted during application).
