Emergency
Notification:
Telephones in classrooms and labs:
As part of the campus emergency notification initiative,
Telephone Services is installing D-Term telephones in many
classrooms and laboratories campus-wide. This project is
in its initial phase and more rooms may be added later.
Campus
Emergency: In case of a campus emergency, these
telephones will be paged from a central location with
information on the emergency and the procedure to be followed.
Local
Emergency: Because the telephones will be paged in
groups by building, only appropriate areas can be paged in
case of a local emergency.
Dialing
Out: These
telephones will be allowed to dial campus numbers and 911
only. This means that there will be a telephone at the
ready for a classroom or lab emergency, and also that there
will be a telephone available to quickly report equipment
malfunctions to the IT Help Desk.
