About SLE

Mission

Recognizing the important role that student life plays in supporting the co-curricular mission of Austin Peay and the Division of Student Affairs, the Office of Student Life and Engagement strives to connect academic and out-of-class experiences through programming and leadership development that establishes a diverse, interactive, and responsive learning community. The Office of Student Life and Engagement prepares students to be citizen leaders with an understanding of the global community and a commitment to service.

Staff

Ashley Kautz, Director of Student Life and Engagement


	Ashley transferred to APSU and received her Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies. Following undergrad, Ashley started her higher education career in Enrollment Management; there she worked as an Admissions Counselor to recruit students. This experience working with students who were navigating the enrollment process is what motivated Ashley to continue to work to minimize enrollment and engagement barriers for students. Prior to working in Student Affairs, Ashley obtained her Master of Arts in Higher Education: Student Personnel from the University of Mississippi. She is presently pursuing her Doctorate in Education Leadership. When not working, Ashley loves to travel, read, thrift, and spend time outdoors.

Zac Moore, Assistant Director of Student Life and Engagement


	Zac Moore holds a Bachelor of Science from Austin Peay State University and a Master of Arts in Student Affairs Administration in Higher Education from Ball State University. Zac joined the Student Life and Engagement team in September of 2022. Prior to coming to Austin Peay State University, Zac worked at Piedmont University as the Director of Student Life and Leadership and Title IX Coordinator. Zac has been involved with many professional associations including the NODA (the Association for Orientation, Transition, and Retention), the Association of Fraternity and Sorority Advisors (AFA), a volunteer and training facilitator for his fraternity Phi Gamma Delta, and holds certifications in CliftonStrengths training, Safe Zone, and ATIXA.

Zac Moore holds a Bachelor of Science from Austin Peay State University and a Master of Arts in Student Affairs Administration in Higher Education from Ball State University. Aubrey Lewis, Coordinator for Fraternity & Sorority Affairs


	Aubrey Lewis is an APSU alumna from the class of 2019, holding a Bachelor's in Social Work. Following her graduation, she earned a Master of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary. Aubrey Lewis is passionate about higher education and advocating for college students. Her experience includes serving as a success coach at APSU and contributing to the Leadership and Service department at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville Aubrey is a proud member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc and her guiding motto is "Just be yourself!"

Mackenzie Perkins, Coordinator for Programs and Special Events


	Originally from Massachusetts, Mackenzie graduated in 2022 from the University of Alabama with her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Communication Studies, and in 2024 from Vanderbilt University with her Master of Education in Higher Education Administration: Student Affairs. Prior to coming to APSU, she worked as the graduate assistant in Vanderbilt's Office of Greek Life, and as a NODA intern for Alabama's Parent and Family Orientation. Mackenzie joined the Student Life and Engagement team in July of 2024, and loves getting to cultivate a vibrant APSU student experience in her role. Outside of work, Mackenzie loves to explore the outdoors, read, and spend quality time with family and friends.

Janesa Wine, Coordinator for Leadership and Student Organizations


	Janesa is a 2021 Austin Peay State University graduate and holds a Master of Science in Higher Education Administration from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Janesa's higher education experience began during her time in undergrad, and she has since served as a Student Success Coach at APSU and as an Admissions Counselor for the University of Mississippi. Having connections with students has kept Janesa interested in the Higher Education field and is ready to serve students in this role. Outside of work, Janesa enjoys reading, spending time with friends and family and attending concerts.

Allison Booker, Administrative Assistant III

	Allison was born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska and moved to Clarksville in March of 2023. Allison joined the SLE team in May of 2023 as the Administrative Assistant III. She is currently finishing up her Bachelors degree at APSU. In her free time she enjoys bicycling, crafting, and travelling with her husband.
