Schedule a Campus Tour
We are so glad you want to visit us here at Austin Peay! We hold tours Monday-Friday at 10:00 a.m. and 2:15 p.m., barring any campus closures or major events.
Academic Appointments
Academic Appointments are available by request for students who want to know a bit more about their intended major! You can request an academic appointment on your tour reservation form. Please note that appointments are based on faculty availability and are not guaranteed. If available, your academic appointment will be scheduled for either 9:30 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. (before your scheduled tour), or for 12:00 p.m. or 4:00 p.m. (directly following your tour). Please request academic appointments at least 7 business days in advance, to allow our office time to communicate with faculty.

In the event of campus closures due to inclement weather, you will be notified via the email address and phone number provided on your reservation as soon as the information is available. Closures will also be posted here.Frequently Asked Tour Questions
Where do I check in for my tour?
Check in is at the front desk in the Ellington building lobby at 331 Drane St. You will find visitor parking directly in front of the building. Please obtain your parking pass at check-in and make sure that the it is visible on your dashboard. If all of the visitor parking is full, please park in the overflow lots (coded black). Please refer to this parking map for further questions.
*Saturday tours will depart from a different location on campus. Because this location varies, please refer to your confirmation email or call the Office of Admissions in reference to Saturday tour check-in.*
How long will my tour last?
We will begin your visit with a 15-20 minute admissions presentation and then move to the walking tour, which typically lasts 1.5-2 hours.
Does the tour cost anything?
All of our tours are free of charge.
Do I have to sign-up for a tour ahead of time?
We do ask you to sign-up for your tour ahead of time for planning purposes, however we do accept walk-ins.
When will I receive a confirmation email?
You will recieve a confirmation email and text message after booking and a reminder email and text message the day before your tour. If you didn't recieve this email, please check your spam folder. You may call the Office of Admissions at any time to confirm the date you signed up for.
How much walking is there?
The entire tour portion of your visit will be walking - about 1.5-2 hours. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes! Please contact the admissions office at 931-221-7661 if you are in need of special accommodations.
How can I make sure my friends and I are on the same tour?
As long as you and your friends submit a reservation for the same date and time you will be in the same tour group. Please make sure every prospective student in your group fills out their own reservation (do not just list them as guests on your reservations) so we will have the most accurate information when you arrive.
Will the tour still happen if it is raining or there is inclement weather?
We will only cancel a tour in the event of severe weather or if the University closes due to inclement weather. Please be sure to dress for the weather as we do give tours in the rain and/or cold. Inclement weather announcements will be made at the top of this page. We will also send cancellation information via the text message and email address you provide on your reservation with as much notice as possible.
What are my dining options on campus?
Austin Peay has a buffet style cafeteria and a dining area with Chick-fil-A, Einstein’s Bros Bagels, Govs' Burger Shop, Tres Habeneros and more.
Can I bring my pets on the tour?
While we understand your love for your furry friend, please refrain from bringing animals on tour unless they are a registered service animal. In concordance with APSU Policy 3:007, only service animals (not emotional support animals) are permitted in public areas of campus.
Can you set up a meeting with a coach or athletics staff member for me?
Unfortunately, the Office of Admissions is not able to coordinate appointments for prospective students with athletics staff. If you are interested in a specific sport, please visit letsgopeay.com and fill out a recruitment form under the “Prospective Govs” section of the menu.
How do academic appointments work?
Academic appointments are scheduled based on faculty availability. You can request an academic appointment through your tour reservation form. Please request an academic appointment at least 7 days prior to your visit so we may coordinate with faculty. Please understand that academic appointments are more difficult to accommodate during APSU's spring break and holiday break times.
How do I cancel or reschedule my tour?
In the event that you need to cancel your tour with us, you can manage your reservation through the confirmation email you recieved. If you need assistance, please contact the Office of Admissions at 931-221-7661 or admissions@apsu.edu.
