“I like the variety of interactions that I can have every day here. I can go to a French film festival, chat with exchange students in Swedish, help orient high school students visiting the campus, teach in my research area, play pick up soccer on the rec field, and work on creating new and interesting curricula for students - all in one day! You can have a truly well-rounded experience here.”  - What excites you most about being part of the Austin Peay community?
  • B.A. in Political Economy and German, Williams College

  • M.A. & Ph.D. in Political Science, Brown University

I moved to the United States from France in 1998. After receiving my Ph.D., I obtained post-doctoral fellowships at the University of Arizona, Duke, UNC Chapel Hill, and Holy Cross. I joined Austin Peay in 2012 and became Department Chair in 2024.

In the past, I have published on religion & civic education and the role of natural resources in political theories. My current research is on teaching critical thinking and political science education more broadly.
