Lydia Schoonover teaches Piano at Austin Peay State University, where she also accompanies the APSU Chamber Singers, the University Choir, Opera Workshop, and numerous APSU student singers and instrumentalists in recital. Previously, she worked for Department of Defense Schools, where she established and maintained a class piano program through which she taught piano lessons to over 3,500 students of all experience and ability levels. She also was Director of Music/Choirmaster/Organist at First Presbyterian Church of Clarksville for many years.
She holds a Master of Music degree in Piano Performance from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where she played the Brahms Piano Concerto #1 in D Minor with the UNC-G orchestra and taught Class Piano. Her Bachelor's Degree is from APSU in Music Education, where she played the Schumann Piano Concerto in A Minor with the APSU orchestra, and accompanied the APSU University Choir plus numerous students in recital.
