Which ESL program is best for me?
|F-1 Visa International Students||All Other Students|
|F-1 students are required to study full time with the ESL Institute in the Intensive English Program.||Students include U.S. citizens, permanent residents, J-1 au pairs, dependents (F2, E2, L2, etc.) and others who are not in the U.S. on an F-1 student visa - but desire to improve their English language skills.|

||The Intensive English Program is for students who are looking for:||The General English Program is for students who are looking for:|
|Language proficiency test preparation for university studies or more intensive language study||Practical, everyday English skills to improve interaction with work colleagues, children in local schools and their teachers, and the local community|
|Intensive courses in 6 different subjects (conversation, grammar, writing, pronunciation, reading, culture) with homework, exams and grades||English Skills courses focus on conversational skills with topics dependent on the enrolled students|
|8-week terms, each class 2 to 4 hours per week, 2 days a week||7-week terms, each class 2 hours per week, 1 day a week|
|Classes are held during the day, usually between 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.||Classes are held weekday evenings and Saturday mornings|
