Emmanuel Mejeun

Mr. Emmanuel Mejeun, Program Director for the Full Spectrum Learning Program (FSL), began working with FSL in 2015 as a Graduate Assistant, Researcher, and Tutor Coordinator. He has worked with children on the Autism Spectrum in the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System in special education, inclusion and BSP classrooms. He also has extensive experience working with young adults on the Spectrum here at Austin Peay State University where he promotes independent learning among participants in the FSL program. His dedication to helping other students succeed in the classroom was nationally recognized in 2017 when he received a Certified Learning Center Professional - Level 2 Certification through the National College Learning Center Association (NCLCA) making him the only one to achieve this level in Graduate School. He also received his Certified Autism Specialist Certification through the International Board of Credential and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES) in 2020 and his Advanced Autism Specialist Certification in 2022 making him the first Higher Education professional in TN with this certification at that time. He believes that students on the Autism Spectrum can meet their independence, social and academic needs when provided the right resources while also gaining the tools and skills necessary to transition into the workforce. From one-on-one meetings to classes specifically designed for student success; Mr. Mejeun serves as a resource for providing program participants with key strategies necessary to thrive during their college careers. Originally from Haiti, he moved to the United States where he completed his bachelor’s and master’s at APSU with a concentration in Education. He is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Education at APSU.
