Message from the President
The 2023-24 General Appropriations Act passed by both chambers of the 113th Tennessee General Assembly includes a proposed budget for FY24 of a 5% salary pool to be distributed at the discretion of the University.
Upon the recommendation of the Salary Allocation Committee, I am pleased to announce a 4.5% salary increase or $2,500, whichever is greater, for all University employees effective July 1, 2023, subject to eligibility requirements.
With limited exceptions, employees who were on the payroll on December 31, 2022, and remain on the payroll as active employees as of June 30, 2023, will receive the salary increase. Exceptions include:
- Employees currently on a Performance Improvement Plan or receiving disciplinary action during the current evaluation cycle
- Employees hired after December 31, 2022
The $2,500 minimum salary increase will be prorated for part-time, regular employees. For example, a half-time regular employee will receive an increase of 4.5% or $1,250, whichever is greater.
This year’s salary increase is not tied to merit. It represents our efforts to acknowledge the tremendous work of our employees with more focused increases directed to faculty and staff based on income.
This is the third consecutive year that a general increase has been implemented for all employees who meet the eligibility criteria. Performance, however, is a consideration related to eligibility for the salary increase. All salary increases are subject to a satisfactory performance evaluation for the 2022 calendar year. Some additional funds may be allocated for market and/or special adjustments.
Thank you for your continued commitment to APSU! I am thankful for the extraordinary efforts of our faculty and staff.
Mike Licari
APSU President
