Keys to the World Annual Reports
In 2014, the Keys to the World initiative was launched at Austin Peay State University in an effort to enhance learning by increasing undergraduate students’ participation in high impact practices (HIPs) that not only transform perspective but additionally engage students in practical application of their learning in academic and nonacademic settings. APSU students engage in these transformational experiences by participating in HIPs such as: service learning and study abroad opportunities. These experiences allow students to apply what they learn at the University to real life situations.
In addition, this initiative aims to support all undergraduate students with a specific focus placed on students enrolled at the Clarksville campus including part-time and online students. It is important to create opportunities for students to participate in high impact practices as they discover the significance of critical thinking, problem solving, and self-reflection skills, which are vital for future graduates as they enter the employment market.
The annual reports listed below are a culmination of the work that has been completed since the inception of the Keys to the World initiative. Each report provides a glimpse of the student learning outcome assessment data collected each year, grant awardee information, demographic data for Keys to the World course participation, spotlights of faculty and students participants and much more.
