Bring your instruments, Midstate/Honor Band /Orchestra audition music, and any reed tools you would like to use. If you are under 18 years old, you will need to complete a permission form, signed by a parent or guardian. If you wish to use a reed knife in the workshop, you must attend the “Basics” portion of the workshop, sign a waiver/permission slip, and get instructor approval before beginning any work on reeds. If you have not purchased a box lunch via the link above, you may bring a bag lunch or money to purchase food at a restaurant on or near campus. There are also vending machines with snacks and beverages available for purchase in the building.

For participants in the master class, you will want to look nice (think business casual), yet wear something comfortable for playing. This shows respect for the teacher, audience, and yourself. For participants in the reed workshop, wear comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting reed dust and wood shavings on. Some people like to wear an apron or bring a towel to put on your lap to keep your clothes clean, but this is optional. You always need to wear closed-top shoes (like sneakers, not sandals or flip flops) when working with reed tools. Long sleeves and long pants are also preferable for extra protection.

Please click this link to register—the first 20 to sign up … GET A FREE REED!

Please click this link to purchase a box lunch, which will be delivered at noon (deadline 10/6).
