Why Study Theatre
Available on campus, the BA in Theatre Arts with Theatre concentration allows students with a surface level interest in theatrical study to develop essential skills while maintaining a flexibility in the course of study.
The BA in Theatre Arts with a Theatre Concentration is designed for students who are interested in pursuing theatrical study while also double majoring or minoring in another area. The Theatre concentration is a more general degree with a less focused structure for prescribed learning and is ideal for a student who wants to explore various elements of theatrical production from design to performance
APSU’s BA concentration in Theatre allows students the flexibility to take courses in a broad range of theatrical courses, while still developing basic skills and knowledge in acting performance, theatre history, and production technology.
The faculty in the Department of Theatre and Dance all have terminal degrees in Theatre and/or Dance ranging from specialties in Acting performance, Musical Theatre Voice, Directing, and the various design areas of Scenery, Costumes and Lighting. This broad range provides the students with ample opportunity to explore various elements of theatrical production within the degree.
