Dr. Jessica Fripp
Assistant Professor
Counselor Education and Supervision
I currently teach:
- Counseling Techniques (COUN 5410)
- Ethical, Legal and Professional Issues in Counseling (COUN 6010)
My research interests include diversity and multicultural issues in counseling. My current research focus is on the retention of diverse clients in counseling. Specifically, I investigate common factors that prevent African Americans and Latinos (who are typically underrepresented in the clinical setting) from engaging in the counseling process. By identifying these factors, I inform practitioners and counselors in training of the best practices for engaging diverse clients in counseling and increasing overall multicultural competence.
