Study Abroad Opportunities
Students in the Department of Communication have several options to participate in Study Abroad high-impact practice opportunities. The programs are offered over Spring Break in London, over Maymester in Italy, and in London over the Winter Term or Summer session. Students may also participate in a variety of exchange programs for an entire semester in Korea, Japan, France, Sweden, and other countries of interest.
Study abroad programs allow you to experience diversity and explore the world while gaining resume-building skills that will help you stand out in interviews.

Communication in Organizations Service Learning Study Abroad

Work with nonprofit organizations on a local and global level while learning the concepts and theories related to communication within organizations. The trip to London allows students to work with Habitat for Humanity, The British Red Cross, and to have a personalized tour of the Communication Floor of the International Salvation Army Headquarters with a Q & A. Students also explore London and surrounding areas with a day trip to Stonehenge and Windsor Castle. Tours of the Harry Potter Warner Brothers Studios are always a favorite part of this experience. Students will also go to the London Eye, Big Ben, the British Museum, and so much more! This course is open to all students.

London’s Influence on Pop Culture: Sports, Music, Movies & More — CCSA Summer Program, Barry Gresham

Open to all undergraduate students, this course examines the incredible influence that the city of London has on popular culture. Students will visit the musical roots of the British invasion with the London Rock Tour, will trace the impact on films with tours of the London Film Museum and Harry Potter Tour, and explore some of the world’s most historic sports venues at Wimbledon, Wembley Stadium, and Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
