Clarksville Youth Orchestra
The Clarksville Youth Orchestra provides high-quality instruction and exciting performance opportunities for young string students in the greater Clarksville area. The CYO aims to enrich the lives of the students as well as the community and to help influence the local schools to include string orchestra as part of their music education.
New students looking to audition for the Fall 2024 CYO should email c-yo@apsu.edu to schedule a time. Auditions will take place between 4:30PM and 7:00PM on Monday, August 26 and Wednesday, August 28.
Students interested in Melodic Orchestra should be at the performing level equivalent to Minuet 1 in Suzuki Book 1 or higher. Students will also play one of the following scales: C, D, F, or G Major.
Students auditioning for Harmonic Orchestra should be in Suzuki Book 3 or higher. Students will also play one of the following scales: C, G, D, F, or B-flat Major.

The Clarksville Youth Orchestra is the premier orchestral training youth orchestra
for young string students in the Clarksville area. Designed for students who currently
receive private instruction and/or participate in their school orchestra, the orchestra
allows young musicians to refine their ensemble playing, learn orchestral procedures,
and focus on beautiful sound production.
Adult string players are invited to join the Clarksville Youth Orchestra tuition-free without performing an audition. Please click the "Register" button below, and be sure to select "High School Graduate" when asked for "Current Grade in School." Direct any questions to our staff by e-mailing c-yo@apsu.edu
Both are required in order to participate in the orchestra. Please submit both pages of the document prior to the first rehearsal. Completed forms may be scanned and e-mailed to us or brought to the first rehearsal.
