Withdraw and Re-enroll
Withdrawal
Information for F-1 visa students who:
- wish to leave the program before the end of the term to ether return to home country or to transfer to another program.
- will not register for the next term but wish to return to study in a future term yet are not eligible for a vacation term. Students will NOT be able to stay in the U.S. during this period and their SEVIS record will be marked "terminated due to authorized early withdrawal".
Withdrawal Form: This form is used to notify the English Language Institute that you wish to leave the program before the end of the term or will not register for the next term.

Re-Enroll
Information for F-1 visa students who wish to return to the program after a period of authorized early withdrawal.
Re-enroll Request Form: This form is used to notify the English Language Institute that you wish to re-enroll in the program after a period of authorized withdrawal.
If your absence from the U.S. is less than 5 months, your current SEVIS record may be able to be reactivated.
- You will need to submit new a financial support form with new supporting bank statements if the ones on file are dated more than 6 months in the past.
- The request can be submitted to SEVP by the English Language Institute no earlier than 60 days before the term begins (e.g., first day of classes) of when you will return and enroll in classes.
- The reactivation of the SEVIS record usually takes between 1-3 weeks to be approved, but this is not guaranteed. If your record reactivation is not approved, you will be given a new SEVIS record (with new SEVIS ID and need to pay the SEVIS I-901 fee).
- If your record is reactivated, you do not have to pay SEVIS fee I-901 again and only need to apply for a new F-1 visa if your current one is expired.

You can continue to use your visa if it is not expired. . You only need to apply for a new F-1 visa if your current one is expired.

You may not enter the U.S. earlier than 30 days before the start date on the new I-20 form.
