Kappa Alpha Order

Kappa Alpha Order was founded in Lexington, Virginia in 1865. The Austin Peay State University Chapter is now known as Zeta Tau chapter after being chartered on November 19, 2011. Today, Kappa Alpha Order is a growing brotherhood that has over 127 active and provisional  chapters and with over 6,300 undergraduate members.

Philanthropy is also a very important aspect of Kappa Alpha Order, and has, as its national philanthropy, the Muscular Dystrophy Association.  During the academic year, the chapter participates in the Labor Day Telethon and in Shamrock and Heart Sales in addition to putting on events to support MDA.  In addition to MDA, Kappa Alpha Order is also proud to serve the Red Cross, United Way, and other national service organizations throughout the academic year. Academically, the Zeta Tau Chapter continues to strive to exceed the minimum national standard and makes academic excellence one of its core principles each year.
