Resources for Emotional and Physical Support

Confidential Resources:

If you want to keep the details of a sexual violence incident confidential, you should speak with someone who has a professional or legal obligation to keep communications confidential. You have the right to ask for someone who can keep what you have to say confidential. Confidential resources include (but are not limited to) APSU mental health counselors, pastoral counselors, social workers, psychologists, health center employees, or any other person with a professional license requiring confidentiality. These resources do not report any information about an incident to the Title IX Coordinator or Deputy Title IX Coordinator without your permission:

Note: If you choose to report in a confidential manner, APSU may be unable to conduct an investigation into the matter or pursue disciplinary action against the alleged offender.

Non-confidential Resources, On Campus

You may choose to report to a Responsible University employee.  A responsible employee includes any APSU employee who has the authority to take action to redress sexual violence; to whom has been given the duty of reporting incidents of sexual violence by students to the Title IX Coordinator or the Deputy Title IX Coordinator; or whom a student could reasonably believe has this authority or duty.  Responsible APSU employees must promptly report your complaint to the Title IX Coordinator or the Deputy Title IX Coordinator, including reporting possible violations of APSU policy and all relevant details about the alleged sexual misconduct, so that APSU can investigate the matter and resolve it fairly.  These resources include, but are not limited to:
