Credit earned through Portfolio Development is intended for students at Austin Peay
State University; however, you can begin this process prior to enrolling at the institution.
Complete your Letter of Intent and email it to us at sa@apsu.edu; just include that you are a prospective student in your email.
Simply follow these steps to start the process.
The Form of Intent serves as a, "pre-approval," to pursue credit through portfolio
development. While this does not serve as a guarantee that credit will be awarded,
it does signify that the department recognizes the potential for credit to be awarded
based on prior experiences. This is required prior to developing a portfolio and registering for the course.
No, we ask you wait for approval from the department(s) you are pursuing credit. This
Letter of Intent Form informs us of how many credits you will be pursuing through
the Portfolio Development Course, and thus, determines price.
We recommend vising our Undergraduate Bulletin to determine what courses best fit your prior-learning experiences. Here you can find classes needed for our programs and course descriptions. We encourage you to review the course descriptions to see which

You can enroll in the Portfolio Development course here. It is run through our Continuing Education
Office.
There is a $100 nonrefundable fee associated with the Portfolio Development Course.
This is the only cost associated with prior-learning through portfolio development.
This fee is charged for each course an individual receives prior-learning credit.
Portfolio development is self paced; however, we encourage you to complete the portfolio
within the semester.
