Why Study Risk Analysis
This program will make a certificate available for industry professionals and other students who need to enhance their skills in risk field but have no need to pursue an advanced degree. The graduates completing this certificate will be more marketable. Furthermore, if the students want to pursue MS in Mathematical Finance/Predictive Analysis, the certificate will save time and money.
The Risk Analysis graduate certificate is designed for students or working professionals with a bachelor’s degree who would like to gain skills in risk analysis. This certificate prepares students to recognize, assess, analyze, and manage risks inherent in all institutions. The twelve-hour graduate certificate is offered fully online and on-campus. The coursework can be completed in six months and can also be transferred towards MS in Computer Science and Quantitative Methods, with a concentration in Mathematical Finance.
The Risk analysis certificate integrates mathematical, statistical, financial, computational and risk related techniques with professional skills for students to succeed in the risk field. This course is offered fully online as well as on-campus. Students' have frequent opportunities to attend conferences and present their research while working closely with the risk analysis faculty. Moreover, 60% of our recent mathematical finance concentration students have got jobs in the risk field. Lately, there has been huge demand for risk analyst. This new graduate certificate will help to tap into this growing demand for risk analysts and be appealing to students who are interested in pursuing careers in the risk field.
The faculty in the Risk Analysis certificate are full-time professors that have completed terminal degrees in various mathematics/statistics fields and part-time faculty members that have many years of real-world experience in risk field as well as different mathematical/statistics disciplines. Many faculty are engaged in multi-disciplinary research and have advised capstone projects.
