Academic Suspension
Academic Suspension is an academic standing at Austin Peay State University that is designed to help students recover from academic performance that falls below the university standard. Academic Suspension occurs after academic probation has been applied to a student's academic record, and when their overall GPA and semester GPA is below the threshold which can be reviewed on the APSU Academic Bulletin.

Academic Suspension Types
There are several different types of Academic Suspension that can be on your record:
- Academic Suspension - 1st
- Student can appeal the suspension if they passed PASS 0900
- Student will be required to sit out one academic semester
- As an example, if the student was suspended at the end of Fall 2023, you would not be able to return until Summer 2024.
- Academic Suspension - 2nd
- Student can appeal the suspension if they passed PASS 0900
- Student will be required to sit out one academic calendar year
- As an example, if the student was suspended at the end of Fall 2023, you would not be able to return until Spring 2025.
- Academic Suspension - Indefinite Suspension
- Student can appeal the suspension if they passed PASS 0900
- Student will be required to sit out one academic calendar year before being eligible
to appeal
- As an example, if the student was suspended at the end of Fall 2023, you would not be able to appeal your academic suspension until Spring 2025.
If you successfully appeal your academic suspension, you will be placed into academic probation - post whichever suspension you have appealed.
