Financial Assistance/Graduate Assistantships
Departmental graduate assistantships are available and awarded on the basis of undergraduate GPA and an interview. Graduate assistants (GAs) are paid monthly and are required to work 20 hours per week. Duties are assigned based on departmental need and may include: assisting faculty in course delivery, teaching classes under the supervision of faculty, and various office duties. Working hours are flexible and will be arranged around the GA's class schedule.
Students interested in a Graduate Assistantship with the Department of Health and Human Performance must have an undergraduate GPA of 3.0.
Stipends for assistantships are considered scholarships and include tuition and fee waiver. Applicants interested in a graduate assistantship must apply for admission and submit a completed application for Graduate Assistantship using the Jobs4Govs application portal.
In addition to graduate assistantships, Austin Peay offers student loans, work-study and part-time employment opportunities. Information about these funding options are available in the Financial Aid Office at (931) 221-7907.
