Student Privacy
Student privacy protection is important to APSU and Honorlock.
Resources
Students may find the following resources helpful:
- Honorlock Protects Student Privacy Video (opens new window)
- Top 7 Questions from Students about Privacy and Security with Honorlock Remote Proctoring (opens new window)
- Student Privacy Statement (opens new window)
- Additionally, links to Honorlock resources on important privacy topics are provided at the bottom of this web page.
Actions
To mitigate concerns, students can take a couple actions, see the list below. These approaches are not required since Honorlock requires very little data/access; however, it may make the student feel more comfortable.
- If students are not already using Chrome, they can download Chrome and only use it for proctoring.
- If they already use Chrome, they can create another profile within Chrome (opens new window) so they access Honorlock using a clean slate without any of their information.
- Also, the student could remove the browser extension (opens new window) after the exam ends. They would just need to reinstall it for their next exam.
