Honors Program

Requirements for students participating in the APSU Honors Program who would like to earn honors credit in the Physics, Astrophysics, or Engineering Physics major are below.  All degree programs are still 120 credit hours, but courses earning honors credit have additional requirements.

HON 1000 Introduction to University Life (substitute for UNIV 1000) 1 credit hour

HON 1045 Foundations of Interdisciplinary Thinking (substitute for ENGL 1020)

3 credit hours
HON 2220 Dialogues on Diversity (substitute for ENGL 2330) 3 credit hours
Two General Education HON courses 6 credit hours
PHYS 3000 Introduction to Modern Physics HON 3 credit hours
PHYS 3040/3041 Experimental Methods HON 4 credit hours
PHYS 4151 Research in Physics (substitute for HON 4050) 4 credit hours
PHYS 4950 Capstone (substitute for HON 4050), includes Senior Thesis 1 credit hour
Total 25 credit hours
