What is Basic Camp?
Basic Camp is a 32-day training event designed to introduce Cadets to the Army. The objective is to develop cadet leadership skills and train them on common leadership tasks and Army values. Basic Camp provides the critical thinking skills necessary to succeed in ROTC and as an Officer in the Army.
Outcomes for Basic Camp Include:
- Using troop leading procedures to plan and execute tactical missions at the squad level within a platoon construct.
- Applying the fundamentals of team development and team dynamics.
- Understanding, embracing, and demonstrating Warrior Ethos and the Army Values.
Who Can Participate?
This program is designed for college sophomores or for recent graduates who have obtained a bachelor's degree and are looking to complete their graduate degree.
What's in it For Me?
Participants who complete Basic Camp and contract into ROTC in the fall semester can receive one of the following options.
A 2-year scholarship that includes full tuition and fees or room and board up to $10,000 a year or receive a $5,000 Basic Camp bonus
