When is Family Weekend?
This year, Family Weekend will be held September 29 - October 1. Family Weekend is a great opportunity to return to campus to visit with your student, learn more about Austin Peay State University programs and services and explore the Clarksville.
What is Family Weekend?
Family Weekend is an opportunity for you and your family to return to campus and visit your student or if you are a nontraditional age APSU student, it is a weekend for you to bring your family to campus and show them what college is all about. Our office hosts a variety of events for guests to partake in. Events are TBD.
How do I register for Family Weekend?
Family Weekend registration is available at www.apsu.edu/familyweekend. Early bird registration begins August 1, 2017 and ends September 10, 2017 and includes a family weekend T- shirt for attendees. Standard preregistration ends September 24 and includes access to all events and programs but NOT a T-shirt. Day of registration will be available but with limited access to giveaway items, events, and programs.
What events can my APSU student attend?
Your student is invited to attend all Family Weekend events with you, as long as they have their student ID. You do not need to purchase a package for your student.
Can my student pick up my packet for me during check-in?
Yes, if you are unable to attend check-in for the weekend, your student can pick up your package. The APSU student can pick up their whole family’s family weekend package materials. Please make sure the APSU student brings their student ID to verify that they are your student. Check in will be held on Friday, September 29 and Saturday, September 30. Check the schedule of events for check-in times.
Where can I park during Family Weekend?
During Family Weekend, families can park in the Kimbrough parking lot (8th and Marion Street), Maynard parking lot (8th and Marion Street), and the Center for Teaching and Learning (Drane Ave).
When should we plan to arrive? Do parents stay for the whole weekend?
Families are encouraged to arrive Friday or Saturday morning. Events are scheduled for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, so plan to stay for the entire weekend, if you can! Events officially begin Friday and end on Sunday afternoon; however, optional/additional events are available before and after the indicated times.
If I bought a football game ticket, how will I get my ticket? Will it be mailed to me?
Tickets will not be mailed to families; you will be able to print off an e-ticket or scan from your phone before entering the stadium.
I want to sit with my student at the football game. What do I need to do?
All of the tickets for Family Weekend are general admission tickets so you will be able to sit with the APSU student as long as it is in the general admission section. Students get free admission with an APSU Student ID.
Are refunds available?
All Family Weekend purchases are non-refundable as the programmatic events that are planned are based off of the number of reservations made.
