To foster an improved workforce for Tennesseans, Governor Lee provided $28M in a competitive grant process for Tennessee College of Applied Technology and Community Colleges to apply for funding. TCAT-Dickson/Clarksville, with the education partnerships of Nashville State Community College and Austin Peay State University, won the award with their proposal supporting the people of Houston, Montgomery, and Stewart Counties.
Beginning in spring 2020 and continuing for two years, the Bridge to Work grant will assist hundreds of people to learn more about industrial manufacturing and gain value experience and skills to have a rewarding and satisfying career in one of Tennessee’s fast growing trades, industrial manufacturing.

Bridge to Work Program
Preparing the industrial manufacturing workforce for today and tomorrow is a priority to the success of Tennesseans. Become a part of this fast growing industry by applying to one of the opportunities below. The following programs are available to students from Clarksville/Montgomery County School System, Houston County School System and Stewart County School System. Adult learners have an option to attend a program in Clarksville at Nashville State Community Community College.
The industry partners have indicated their willingness to provide work-based learning opportunities to include, on-the-job training, apprenticeships, externships, company tours, and donations of time and equipment when feasible.
If your an adult who is in need of a job and are ready for a successful career, you can earn critical industry recognized certificates through a short four-week Industrial Readiness Training program conducted by experienced industry professionals.
