Honors Faculty Fellows

The University Honors Program Faculty Fellows incorporates teaching, learning, research, and service to both an academic discipline and the University Honors Program. University Honors Program Faculty Fellows engage deeply with high-achieving students in general education core and Honors Program coursework.

Selection Process

Interested faculty will submit a brief application packet (with four attachments) to honors@apsu.edu that include:

  1. A statement of purpose addressing:
    • Why you want to become an Honors Faculty Fellow
    • The value you will bring to the Honors Program
    • Your perspective on this position in terms of your professional development
  2. A current copy of your Curriculum Vitae
  3. A one-sentence statement of approval from your Department Chair
  4. A one-sentence statement of approval from your College Dean

A selection committee chaired by the Executive Director of University Honors Programs will review and recommend Faculty Fellows. The final slate of Faculty Fellows will be presented to the Provost and Deans for endorsement.

For the current, spring 2025 application cycle, we will be appointing one new Faculty Fellow.  That person will begin their two-year term of service in the fall of 2025.

Timeline: Applications are open from 17 - 21 February 2025. Decisions will be made and candidates notified by 3 March.
