Elementary Resources
This for purchase educational resource offers information for students on a variety
of topics. Key features of this site include the ability to search by subject and
by grade level. Users need to create a login or have a Google account to use this
site. The topics have associated games, quizzes, activities, and more to help students
learn.
This resource, created by the U.S. Energy Information Administration, is aimed at
upper elementary students. This free educational resource is all about energy. It
has really good information for students, puzzles (crosswords and word searches),
experiments, and quizzes.
DiscoveryKids has 12 different topics that students can explore including science,
animals, earth, space, etc. Each topic has quizzes, games, activities, and photographs
to aid in student learning. The site also links to good elementary level books that

FunBurst media, also known as Funology, has free ideas for biology, physics, chemistry,
and weather experiments. These are great for both in-class and at home classrooms.

MathGame Time is a free science and math resource for students ranging from PreK to
7th grade. Subjects include: geography, shapes, and time and money. The subjects also have

Monster Sciences offers a variety of lessons, printables, and experiment ideas for
various science topics.
Free resource for student use. You must have up-to-date version of Java to utilize
this tool.
The LearningLab acts as a virtual library of Smithsonian resources for public use.
Users can discover new resources, create their own, and share them with a collaborative
community. Users have the option of creating a log on for use of this program.
ZoomPBS is an older resource but still has a lot of fun activities for elementary
age students. Click on "Activities from the Show" on the Zoom home page to see all
of the activity ideas they provide. The subjects highlighted are: chemistry, engineering,
the five senses, forces, life science, patterns, sounds, structures, and water.

the subjects covered with this resource are limited. Additionally, users must have
an up-to-date version of Flash to use this tool.
This site is geared towards upper middle school chemistry students. The provided link

High School Resources
BBC Earth offers educational articles and videos for users to explore. They offer
information on topics such as conservation, discoveries, common questions about our

BBC Science, another free educational resource provided by BBC, provides articles
for students to explore a variety of topics. If there is a particular topic a student
is looking for information on, it is best to use the search bar on the BBC site to
help narrow down the many resources.
The Concord Consortium works to bring technology into the other aspects of the STEM
field: science, engineering, and math. Users can explore resources in the following
subjects: physics and chemistry, life science, engineering, earth and space, and mathematics.
If you make an account with this site, you can assign work to your students, allow
them to save their work, and more.
Edheads is geared for online interaction in math and science exploration. There is
a small selection of free games available as well as access to other games with the
purchase of a membership. The intended grade levels for each game are specified on
the home page of each game.
The Exploratorium is a resource provided by the Museum of Science, Art and Human Perception
in San Francisco, CA. The exploratorium provides tools for teaching and learning as

PLTW is a nonprofit organization that works to empower K-12 Students and Educators.

This organization aims to improve student achievement by advancements in stem learning.
Their programs include both a college readiness program and a military families mission

more. Plus they have many different templates to choose from if you don't know where
to start.
GoogleDrive is a great way for students and instructors to store their documents, presentations,
spreadsheets, calendars, etc. The best part about google drive is that you can access
it anywhere you have an internet connection. All you need is a Google account (like
gmail).
Kahoot is a game making resource for educators to use. It is a fun way to make the
learning material more engaging for students.
This can be used online or through the App. It is a great way to communicate with
parents and students without giving them all of your personal information.
An easy to use screen casting tool for showing presentations on your computer or even
walking through steps on how to complete an assignment.
Skype is an extremely underutilized resource that can be used for collaborations and
learning experiences with classrooms throughout the world.
