Winter Term Checklist - New and Visiting Students

Welcome to the Winter Term! Stay organized and on task in the term by using the Winter Term Checklist. The checklist provides the steps you must complete to begin the term successfully.

The first step to enroll in a Winter Term course is to apply for admission. Visit the Admissions website to learn more about admission requirements.

We encourage you to meet with an advisor to discuss Winter Term course options. Advisors will ensure you have the classes you need for your program and to also be successful in the term.

If you are new to APSU, review the APSU Online Advising webpage for advising information.

Consider using the Winter Term Student Success Calculator to help guide conversations with your advisor about winter term courses. The Winter Term Student Success Calculator is a nifty tool that predicts a student’s success in Winter Term courses with an 85% accuracy rate.

The calculator can be accessed from the Winter Term Resources webpage.

Winter Term courses will be available in the Schedule of Classes when the spring schedule opens for viewing. Visit the Registrar’s website for information on how to register for your classes in the AP OneStop system.

Review the Registrar’s website for online registration instructions.

Pay for your classes before the deadline. In some cases, a fee deferment may be available.

Visit the Fee Deferment and General Information website for more information.

Remember to confirm your enrollment when the confirmation period opens. Courses not confirmed before the drop date will be removed from your schedule.

Instructions on confirming your classes are available on the Student Account Services website.

Since Winter Term is only four weeks, purchasing your course materials before the first day of classes is essential. Course materials can be ordered at the Ann Ross Bookstore. Visit the Ann Ross Bookstore website for more information.

If you have questions about course requirements, we suggest you email the instructor of record listed in the AP OneStop system.

To help you transition successfully to online learning, Distance Education offers an Introduction to Online Courses website. The introduction provides information, resources, and tips to help you acclimate to learning online at the Peay.

The Winter Term FAQ webpage answers many questions students ask about the Winter Term. We suggest that you review the FAQ section to find answers to any questions that you might have about the term.

Review the Academic Calendar webpage for important Winter Term dates. Never miss a deadline by adding important dates to your calendar.

APSU offers valuable resources to students regardless of their modality. Check out the Winter Term Resources webpage for services and resources.

Class starts on the first day of classes.

We suggest you log into D2L and read the instructor's syllabus, announcements, and any email communication on the first day of classes. We also recommend logging into D2L daily to review announcements and check email for class updates.

Visit the Distance Education D2L Brightspace webpage to learn more about specific D2L resources and support.
