Govs Life: The English Language Institute
The Austin Peay State University English Language Institute’s non-credit intensive English language program was created in 1998.
In order to achieve our mission, the English Language Institute:
- offers an intensive English language program for students desiring improve their English language proficiency for university admission
- provides our community members opportunities to study English language through general English programs, private tutoring, or contract lessons to prepare for professional careers or daily life
- presents students with cultural knowledge and awareness needed to adjust and live, both academically and socially, in the United States.
Classes
Class sizes are small to provide students with personalized attention and opportunities to improve their language skills.
Facilities
Students have access to university computer labs as well as state-of-the-art technology used by trained instructors. All students in the Intensive English program will be able to receive an APSU student ID; all full-time students will receive full access to other University facilities and services, such as athletic events and the recreation center. Conveniently located 45 minutes northwest of Nashville, the University is near Nashville International Airport, the excitement of Music City, USA, and several professional sports stadiums.
