Internship Description

Intern will participate in Chamber Public & Community Affairs committee meetings, be mentored by Chamber of Commerce Past Presidents, and collaborate with the Aspire Foundation on a Welcome Sign initiative – a special beautification effort. This captivating city gateway project aims to position our fast-growing community as a thriving hub of economic development and entrepreneurship.

Projects may include:

1. Marketing Campaign Development: Design marketing and social media campaigns to promote the initiative
2. Program Creation: Develop programs to support the Welcome Sign project
3. Financial Planning: Create a financial plan to sustain this community point of pride
4. Community Engagement: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather support and input

As Executive Director of the Clarksville Area Chamber of Commerce, Melinda Shepard manages the day-to-day operations while the Board of Directors focuses on governance, visionary planning, and strategic direction. Throughout her career at the Chamber, she has worked with several interns and hired two former interns for permanent positions. Under her leadership, the Chamber provides monthly professional development opportunities for Young Professionals and hosts various events throughout the year that provide support for businesses and entrepreneurs in the community.
