Summer Camp 2024 for High School Students

The 2024 Nursing Summer Camp will be held Tuesday, May 28th, through Friday, May 31st, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Do you want to be a nurse? Austin Peay State University Camp for Aspiring Nurses is an engaging, one-week program for high school students who have completed the 10th, 11th or 12th grades, and are interested in a career in nursing. Camp participants will be immersed in interactive learning activities led by undergraduate nursing faculty in the School of Nursing’s on-campus labs and simulation center. Faculty will lead students in practicing hands-on technical skills and facilitate learning opportunities through simulation, field trips, and first aid training. Participants will also learn from a panel of healthcare professionals from various inpatient and outpatient units to gain a better understanding of the work of the nurse and the healthcare team. At the APSU Camp for Aspiring Nurses, students will:
- Learn from nursing faculty and guest speakers to understand different areas of clinical expertise including medical-surgical, older adult, and community health
- Participate in hands-on interactive experiences through basic nursing skills development
- Apply learned skills in educational simulation experiences
- Earn certification in CPR and basic life support

- Camp fees are $100
- Includes program instruction, materials, equipment, lab supplies, meals (snacks and lunch), camp T-shirt
- Discounts for early registration:
- Register by Friday, March 29th and receive 75% off camp fees.
- Register by Friday, April 12th and receive 50% off camp fees.
- Register by Friday, April 26th and receive 25% off camp fees.
