Welcome to the Student Veterans of America at Austin Peay State University!

Are you a military member, veteran, or part of a military family pursuing higher education at APSU? Welcome home! The Student Veterans of America (SVA) chapter at Austin Peay State University is your support network, advocacy group, and family away from family.

Our Mission:

We act as a catalyst for the success of military members, veterans, and their families by providing resources, network support, and advocacy to, through, and beyond higher education.

Our Vision:

We are committed to empowering military members and their families to lead and live their best lives.

Who We Are:

SVA at APSU is a diverse group of students with rich military experiences. Our leadership team includes:

• President: Don Morse, a ten-year Army veteran studying accounting and finance (Graduating December 2025)

• Vice President: Steven Hunsicker, an Army veteran studying Business Management (Graduating May 2025)

• Secretary: Paula Aldus, Army veteran studying reality (Graduating May 2025)

• SGA Liaison: Brian Meredith, a 24-year Army veteran pursuing a master's in leadership

• Officer at Large: Taylor Cabanillas, Army veteran and current military spouse, pursuing a BBA in Accounting

• Community Outreach: Dr. Peter Burke, a 15-year Army veteran and SVA alumni with a doctorate in Education-Leadership in Higher Education
